10% of CISOs say their organization diverted patients due to cyber incident in past year

Hospital and health system chief information security officers have been navigating an increase in cyberattacks over the past year, with some experiencing EHR outages and needing to divert patients to other providers, according to a recent survey.

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives teamed up with the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security to survey its CISO members about how cybersecurity incidents affected their healthcare organizations over the past year. The groups published their survey results Oct. 18.
